Ten K–2 early-literacy videos from 92NY’s Dance Education Laboratory. Kids learn phonics through dance and movement while adventuring to imagined worlds.

First, we use our imaginations.
Each episode starts on the school blacktop. The students use their imaginations to travel somewhere new, then explore phonics through dance and movement. The lessons were developed with dance-education and literacy experts and align with best practices for New York City public schools.
MY CONTRIBUTION
My part
in the series.
As Creative Producer, I helped shape the story concepts, visual identity, and production approach. I led the animation and VFX team while doing substantial hands-on animation and compositing myself.
I helped generate story concepts and map out how they could come to life visually. From there, I helped plan the camera and lighting so the dancers would fit naturally into the animated environments.
I developed post-production workflows, gave detailed feedback, and helped the team’s contributions fit the series’ visual identity. I also did substantial animation and compositing myself, including character animation.
